Treetop walk in Neuschönau in the Bavarian Forest

Whether spring, summer, autumn or winter, the Treetop walk in Neuschönau will inspire you, no matter what time of year. Under the expert guidance of forest guides or on your own, you can explore nature, past clearings and deadwood areas up into the impressive treetops, before the path leads to the huge tree tower. Both the treetop path and the observation tower are barrier-free, meaning that they can be accessed with a stroller or wheelchair. There are seven educational stations along the path where you can find out more about the water cycle, bats or falcons, for example. A special highlight is the treetop path with the forest island, a platform of around 270 square metres at a height of around 20 metres, where there is also a lot to discover, as well as a unique mesh lounger where you can enjoy peace and quiet and recharge your batteries. This facility is accessible with a stair lift.

The main attraction, the observation tower (44 m high), can be reached up to a height of 40 m by wheelchair or stroller. The last four meters can be reached via a ladder. The observation tower is unique because of its indescribable view over the Rachel and Lusen, the Bavarian and Bohemian Forest, and also because of its airy, architectural form. It was built over three mighty firs and beeches up to 38 m high. Along the approximately 500 m long path you will find numerous insights into the life and development of these three giants. You have a unique perspective on the life forms of mosses, insects, small animals and birds. On clear days you can enjoy the view of the northern main ridge of the Alps.
