The Ski Area The Grosser Arber is the "highest" mountain in the Bavarian Forest, and not just because of its altitude. The Grosser Arber is a snow-sure ski area for all winter sports enthusiasts. It truly proves to be a mecca for skiers and snowboarders who don't necessarily seek their fun in the high Alpine mountains.

The Silberberg, Bodenmais' local mountain, is about 955 m high. It is about 5 minutes by car from the Hotel Bergknappenhof.
