If you prefer to plan your trip independently, Prague Prague has a lot to offer for all interests. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and also its most populous city. It can look back on a significant history. Prague In the 14th century it was the residence of the Holy Roman Empire and thus the political and cultural centre of Central Europe.
A large part of the city lies in a wide valley of the Vltava, with the historic city center lying in a loop on the southern curve. The city is affectionately called the "Golden City", which is partly attributed to the two sandstone towers that shine golden when the sun shines. Many towers characterize the cityscape.
Prague is also a university city. In addition to the oldest university in Central Europe, Prague offers students a wide range of different universities, art schools and research institutes. One of the many sights is the Charles Bridge. It is one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe and leads over the Vltava, only accessible to pedestrians. Numerous figures of saints line the edges of the bridge. The bridge is bustling with activity. Musicians, traders and photographers can be found there. Prague Castle, with its three castle courtyards, is the largest enclosed castle complex in the world. The castle includes St. Vitus Cathedral, the Holy Cross Chapel, the National Gallery and the Golden Lane, to name just a few. GOT TO for all visitors to Prague, but you should be a good walker, as the climb up the castle steps is strenuous, but that's not a problem, as you can then relax in the Hotel Bergknappenhof. The town hall, built in the Gothic style, with its astronomical clock is a special feature. Many other sights invite you to linger. Wenceslas Square, the Old Town Square, the Powder Tower, the John Lennon Wall, the Jewish Cemetery, the Dancing House and the National Theater are just a few of the many attractions. The team at the Hotel Bergknappenhof will be happy to advise you.
